RUTLAND, Vt.—A Vermont man is being held on $10,000 bail after being charged with arson for allegedly setting a car on fire in Rutland.

Vermont State Police say an unoccupied car was set on fire and extensively damaged at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Rutland. Fire investigators determined the fire was caused by an incendiary device.

The state police fire investigation unit arrested 20-year-old Kelley Staples on Friday night and charged him with third-degree arson, domestic assault and violation of conditions of release from a previous arrest.
