Vt. police arrest woman in St. Albans shooting
ST. ALBANS, Vt.—Police in Vermont say a 48-year-old woman who fired a handgun into the door of her St. Albans apartment before fleeing is now in custody.
St. Albans police say 48-year-old Elizabeth Harrington was spotted at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 7.
Police say that at about 1 p.m. Wednesday Harrington fired at least one shot in the building where she lives, which also houses Roadmaster Auto Sales. There were no injuries.
Police say Harrington was involved in a dispute with her landlord.
Some area schools were locked down for a time following the incident.
Police say Harrington was taken into custody is and being transported to the St. Albans police department for processing.
