Share your reaction to the gay marriage decision

Massachusetts's highest court ruled 4-3 that same-sex couples are legally entitled to wed under the state constitution, but stopped short of allowing marriage licenses to be issued to the seven couples who challenged the law. The court ordered the Legislature to come up with a solution within 180 days. What are your thoughts on the issue?

It is about time. Of course it is unconstitutional. Now let's hope the legislature upholds the law of the land!

I think it's about darn time!! We are all human beings!

Its wrong. Why dont politicians stop sucking up to special interest and have the guts to say its MORALLY WRONG. Thats why there are 2 sexes. Men and Woman. This stuff makes me sick. I will never recognize this and most of the people wont either no matter what stupid law they pass just to get votes.

Hoooray! I am so excited for my friends who have waited so long for this day!! Thank you, to all of the legislators, the "honorables" and to the 7 brave couples who stood up for their rights, and for the rights of all gay couples in our state.

Hope , Salem

Great decsion. Let's let people alone to establish their relationship and run their lives as they see fit within the law. Restricting people from a chosen union is pointless and undermines the permanancy that we see in many of these relationships. I have a relative who has been with the same person fpor over 10 years and is for all intensive purposes married and happy. Why must we legislate morality over and over again...

Statistically speaking, the life expectancy for gays or lesbians is only 49 years of age (face it, what they do in the bedroom is unnatural and breaks the body down) vs 74 for straight folks. So when that newly unioned gay couple moves in next door, you can at least take comfort knowing that they won't be there too long. If they want to call this legal arrangement a "union", that's fine. Whatever it is, it should never be called a marriage. It will never be recognized in the eyes of God.

Sickening, It’s a shame that because some people are different the rules have to be changed for them. This is a disgrace!!!

Way to go, Massachusetts! This sends a message of equality, compassion, and support. Along with Vermont, this shows a strong step in the right direction, but it will face an uphill battle in the near future with the mix of Democrats and Rebublicans in different offices supporting specific party lines. Interesting times, I must say.

Oh, great! Like Massachusetts isn't already seen as a liberal joke by the rest of country, now we're the laughingstock of America! If anything good can come out of this, at least John Kerry can kiss his Presidential aspirations goodbye! HA!!!

Wonderful news! Civil marriage is a contract of that bestows all sorts of rights. Two adults should have the right to enter into such a contract regardless of whether straight or gay.
