Share your reaction to the gay marriage decision
Massachusetts's highest court ruled 4-3 that same-sex couples are legally entitled to wed under the state constitution, but stopped short of allowing marriage licenses to be issued to the seven couples who challenged the law. The court ordered the Legislature to come up with a solution within 180 days. What are your thoughts on the issue?

Bravo! Bravo to both the court and the couples that had the intestinal fortitude and conviction to stand up for thosands of folks around the world. I'm so proud of my state!

GOD, I love this LIBERAL state!! What took so long? Thought I do admit it will get very interesting in the legislature and this will be a oncoming power trip that Fineran relishes. I totally support Gay marriages, even though I do feel slightly uncomfortable seeing public displays of affection in public between gay couples. But I guess I will get over it eventually. Really thought, the question here is that no one in the state should be relegated to second-class citizenship, and It would actually be fun to attend a Gay wedding sometime next summer :-)

Although we have yet to see what the Massachusetts legislature will do with this decision, this is step in the right direction. Congratulations to all who have worked so hard in this state to ensure the rights of all citizens and all relationships. The religious battles aside, it is baffling to me that people have such a hard time seeing the civil/legal issues at stake here. Recognizing the marriage rights of all citizens will be a victory for civil rights, equality and freedom-- ideals most Americans value. Thank you to all who have worked so hard. Maybe tonight I will propose!

Stupidest thing I've ever heard. Gay rights, no problem; Civil unions, tolerable; Same sex marriage, ridiculous. I have a loving relationship with sister and brother. I supposed I should petition for government sanctioned marriage so I can have all the same benefits of legitimate marriages, huh? Ridiculous you say?...Exactly!!!

"Then the Lord made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,'for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." (Genesis 2:22-24)

About time. Times are changing and all people deserve equal rights. Thank you to the SJC for looking at the constitution of Massachusetts and ruling correctly!!!

I'm starting my own religion. It will recognize gay marriage. Will the US Government block my freedom of religion as guaranteed by the constitution? What would Pat Robertson think?

Yippee, gays can get married. However, don't be bothered calling each other "husband" and "wife," since by definition this is what you call a man and a woman who married each other.

Great! Now we can allow polygamy, bigamy, sex with siblings and whatever other union, as long as it's "for love". And, please, spare me the "they're not the same" philosophy. If you're against the above, you're a hypocrite, pure and simple!

This ruling has made a mockery of the institution of marriage. This state if it isn't already ,it soon will be the laughing stock of the country if not the world! Boy, along with other ridiculous things like "Police Details" Massachusetts is so far out of touch with reality. As a result of this ruling they will probably change the nickname "The Bay State" to "The Gay State".
