Share your reaction to the gay marriage decision
Massachusetts's highest court ruled 4-3 that same-sex couples are legally entitled to wed under the state constitution, but stopped short of allowing marriage licenses to be issued to the seven couples who challenged the law. The court ordered the Legislature to come up with a solution within 180 days. What are your thoughts on the issue?

I think that even though i'ts a choice to be gay or not that sometimes people should enjoy the flavas of different types of lifes, and try something new!!!! its not hurting anybody!!!!

The SJC has just made precedance for anyone promoting polygamy. It won't be too long before someone argues that pedophilia is an appropriate relationship. This is sad day...

A wonderful ruling on a beautiful day!! It's sad that it has taken MA or any other state this long to catch up with civilization... Oh, and John Kerry -- opposed to same sex marriage? you've lost my vote, dude...

It's an awful decision. A constitutional ban of homosexual marriages is now required.

To all of you who are part of the "moral majority" out there.... I find it deplorable that you would judge another human being---a homosexual---wihout walking a mile in his/her shoes. What if you WEREN'T in the majority, and didn't have the same rights as the majority? Get a clue. One of my dearest friends is gay, and he has struggled with it mightily because IT IS NOT A CHOICE. Who are you to judge...YOU ARE NOT GOD.

I read the news on same-sex legal entitlement with a heavy and saddened heart. Allowing the courts to dictate the direction of marriage in a country that basis its principles and law on the bible should be ashamed of itself today. In the bible, God ordains marriage as the union of a MAN and WOMAN, to advance his kingdom through procreation and love. This country's history is based on Judeo-Christian principles, one of which this IS NOT. God loves EVERY one and his salvation is available to all through his son Jesus Christ. I pray that this will not prevail. If this is allowed to continue, where does it stop? Will we be able to have multiple wives and husbands? If you agree with me, please continue to pray and ask your representatives to support the Federal Marriage Act, prohibiting judges and states from going forward with these types of actions. It is actions such as this and the court's ruling on the abolishing of the 10 commandments from a public courthouse (while it is on many walls in DC) that does not make me a proud American. If we continue to push GOD out of our laws and country, this country may soon face a sad day. In Christ,

Only in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts would you get asuch an outargeous ruling from a State Supreme court. I personally know many gay couples, some within extended family and others I consider close friends. But my openmindness and exposure to these human beings does not change my feelings toward gay marriage. Nor does my love or caring for these individuals change becuase of today's ruling.

Hooray -- If marriage can be between anyone then why not allow polygamy too -- that's consenting adults!

I have happy tears in my eyes reading this decision and am filled with admiration for the same-sex couples who fought this legal battle. It's about time Massachusetts was out in front on the right side of an important social, and legal, issue. We can only hope that the legislature doesn't do something ridiculous in response.
