Media pick Faneuil Hall as perfect Boston backdrop

Most major networks will use Faneuil Hall as the site for their live shots during the Democratic National Convention. What site would you choose to represent Boston?

Considering, the competition why not the USS Constitution with the Bunker Hill Monement in the background. My second choice down a long the Charles River with the City and the Longfellow bridge in the background. This gives a viewer a much better look at the city as a whole.

-Constitution -Charles River with Back Bay skyline from Museum of Science -Castle Island -Skyline & harbor from East Boston or Tobin Bridge -Old North Church -Public Gardens

Charlestown, Beacon Hill, the South End, the North End, Chinatown and the Zakim Bridge. Faneuil Hall is a tourist's view of Boston. The neighborhoods are the real Boston and the Zakim Bridge is a beautiful "gateway" to the City. The other Boston (and Cambridge) neighborhoods are also attractive.

New England Aquarium - That is a great location - right in the waterfront - has all ages attraction of the aquarium and whale watch trips. also the great blending of the new architecture with the 40 year old aquarium - biggest salt water tank in the world still i think! plus it is really close to fleet center and the new waterfront without the expressway running right thru it!

I was born and raised in South Boston MA and left the state in 2002... However , I agree that the stations should be much more creative than just liveshots from Fanuel Hall. I would suggest using the USS Constitution, or Dorchester Heights, or Castle Island, or The Boston Common, or the Public Garden....... or perhaps from one of the MBTA stations....(it is the oldest public transit in the country) The City of Boston and its neighborhoods are rich in history...........Because I was born and raised in South Boston, obviously I have much knowledge of my beloved neighborhood... I know that every neighborhood in Boston has a part of history that should be showcased to the nation...... It should be noted that if the mayor and others in charge of organizing this convention want to showcase Boston in a positive light, then they should be willing to go beyond The Fleet Center, and Fanuel Hall.....there is so much more to Boston than just those two venues... I would use the new Zakim / Bunker Hill bridge, Boston Harbor hotel, something that is beautiful to the city and shows water and skyline

There is a spot on the northeast corner of the pond in the Public Garden that gives you a clear shot of the bridge crossing the pond, the steeple of Old South Church, the Prudential Tower and John Hancock Tower. Absolutely beautiful and shows the growth of Boston through architectural landmarks.

A few thoughts: Why not City Square/Town Hill in Boston? This is the true foundation of the Massachusetts "cradle of liberty": site of original Winthrop settlers and home to the Massachusetts Great House, the Three Cranes Tavern, first church and school, commercial lottery, and center of or adjacent to virtually every important commercial/military industrial trend in Boston for more than 300 years. Most people think Charlestown = Paul Revere, the Battle of Bunker Hill and busing. Why not cover Charlestown history more broadly" After all, it is the true "City on the Hill". Charlestown's history is important, relevant. moving and often glorious. Would love to participate and/or inform: this is a topic I know well and feel very passionate about.

Heather , Charlestown
