Where should the F.A.O. Schwarz bear go?

The now-defunct F.A.O. Schwarz donated its hallmark statue, a three-ton bronze teddy bear, as a "gift to the children of Boston," and now the city is facing the daunting task of deciding where to put it. Some people say it should be shipped to the Rose Kennedy Greenway or a park built at the site of the old elevated Central Artery. Others think it works better at Boston Common, or the Public Garden, with Mrs. Mallard and her bronze ducklings. Where do you think it should go?

It has to go somewhere in the Common. That's the place where the most people will get to enjoy it!

How about somewhere near the "Make Way for the Ducklings" sculpture in the Public Gardens? Does Boston still hold a "Teddy Bear Picnic?" Is it on the Common or in the Public Gardens? If so, THAT would be the perfect location for it! We want to make these spaces more welcoming to families.

The bear should be donated to Children's Hospital or the Shriner's hospital--either to sit outside or possibly in a rotunda or similar place...it'd be bound to bring a smile to the faces of children who need it most.

Childrens Museum or Hospital, and have contests each season for children to design sides of the FAO blocks.

I think it should go to the Dana Faber Cancer Center so that young and old can enjoy it, and God knows they sure could use the uplifting feeling it would bring.

I think it should go in the Public Garden with Mrs. Mallard and her ducklings. Thats a great spot for children and the bear would be an added attraction for kids.

Left field of Fenway Park - think of how intimidating it would be to opposing hitters

Mark

Children's Museum.

The bear should go in a city-owned park, where children can enjoy it. This way, it won't be an unappreciated eyesore in more adult-oriented spaces.

Erin

The bear should go into the Public Garden for all to view - winter, spring, summer and fall or it should be placed somewhere near Frog Pond!
