Where should the F.A.O. Schwarz bear go?

The now-defunct F.A.O. Schwarz donated its hallmark statue, a three-ton bronze teddy bear, as a "gift to the children of Boston," and now the city is facing the daunting task of deciding where to put it. Some people say it should be shipped to the Rose Kennedy Greenway or a park built at the site of the old elevated Central Artery. Others think it works better at Boston Common, or the Public Garden, with Mrs. Mallard and her bronze ducklings. Where do you think it should go?

The bear should go near Children's Hospital. Children from all over the world come to this center for treatment. It would be a great site for the children as they enter what may be a very tough time in their young lives. The Shirne Burn Center would be second.

The Franklin Park Zoo.

The bear should go over by the Children's Museum in the park/eating area out front.

CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL! A great place for "the bear"!

Near the playground in the Common.

When the expressway is torn down, it should be move to the eventual pathway leading to North Station, which would center the North End, North Station and Gov't Center.

I think the consensus seems to be: place it near a medical facility that serves children. Make sure they can see it when they arrive, or while they're receiving treatment. It would give the kids a boost to see a teddy bear in the lobby or just outside the entrance.

Good Morning: I will miss the beautiful FAO Schwarz Bear on Boylston Street. It was a great landmark, especially for people that were not familiar with the Boston streets. I think that this Teddy Bear should go in the Boston Public Gardens near the Frog Pond. This will be a perfect place for the children to see the Bear when they come to skate in the winter and ride the Swan Boats in the summer. Thank you

Janice

COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION: Sink it in Boston Harbor.

Mike

I think infront of Children Hospital will be perfect location.
