Where should the F.A.O. Schwarz bear go?

The now-defunct F.A.O. Schwarz donated its hallmark statue, a three-ton bronze teddy bear, as a "gift to the children of Boston," and now the city is facing the daunting task of deciding where to put it. Some people say it should be shipped to the Rose Kennedy Greenway or a park built at the site of the old elevated Central Artery. Others think it works better at Boston Common, or the Public Garden, with Mrs. Mallard and her bronze ducklings. Where do you think it should go?

childrens hospital would be the first place i'd consider moving it to

First off I am glad that FAO donated this landmark to the city of Boston, I was scared to think that the bear might have been auctioned off on Ebay, and it could have wound up at the Neverland Ranch. Good to see something that is a landmark of Boston is here to stay. I think that the following are some of the better locations for this landmark: 1) I think that it should stay where it is. It acts as a great corner stone lending shoppers and tourists alike a smile. 2) If it can't stay there, then it should only be moved slightly to the common to join the likes of the swan boats and the duck statues. 3) If that doesn't work, maybe a small parked area right at Children's Hospital to bring hope and happiness to kids. 4) Finally last option would be to preserve it at the Children's Museum.

I think the best spot would be outside the Children's Hospital. It might help to ease the fears of children upon entering the hospital. In addition, it might put a smile on the faces of sick kids. Of course something would need to be done about the F.A.O.

I think the bear should go to Children's Hospital Cancer Ward visiting area. The kids would get a big boost seeing it every day knowing that it represented a big part of Boston for many years. Show them they are not forgotten. Thank you for your consideration.

I think they should put the bear with view from Children's Hospital

Sumner Tunnel or Downtown Crossing.

I think it should go on the Public Garden along with Mrs. Mallard and her ducklings. Absolutely, so the kids can enjoy it. Easy access and a great place to take pictures with your kids.

I think it should go near the ducks, not too close but within sight, in the Public Garden. What a joy for children to be able to see such a giant, playful, famous bear by the famous ducks.

I believe the bear should stay where it is, and if that is not an option, that it should be moved to the public gardens. As of now, people who grew up in Boston and whose children are growing up in Boston know the location of the bear well. It serves as a landmark. The public garden would also be nice because it already has a collection of bronze sculpture, and it is a beautiful place for children as well as adults to enjoy the bear.

Near the Children's Museum.
