Insurgents? Wait a minute, I thought our soldiers were going to be met by cheering crowds of Iraqis waving US flags. At least that is what we were all told. Could it be the protesters were right? Another fine mess brought to you by the good ol' Republicans. Any luck finding those weapons of mass destruction yet?

When people like nick make stupid comments like that, it goes to show you how little these liberals know about whats going on in Iraq. Yes, most of the iraqi people are cheering and yes most of the iraqi people are grateful to the americans for gettting rid of a monster who raped, tortured, and killed his own people. This world is now a much safer place with Saddam out of power. Thank God for Bush, Ashcroft and Ridge for taking the RIGHT steps to protect this country.

Inasmuch as we had no justification whatever for invading Iraq, we certainly should not destroy even more people and infrastructure in an effort to prevent Iraqis from fighting back in the only feasible way open to them. Every day we stay there creates more ill will and potential terrorists.

Where are all those folks who said let them loot as they deserve to get what they have been deprived of?? This was a war over oil and it is being paid for by the lives of young soldiers. Check out the contributions by oil barons to the Bush campaign and you can see why we really over there. Shame on the US government.

Regardless of the Fox News nonsense spouted by Tony, the world is certainly not safer with Saddam in US custody. If it were then why was the terror alert raised almost immediately after his capture? Iraq is now a breeding ground for terrorists as never before. The current administration has bungled this thing from day one and no amount of Republican BS can change that fact.

Nick from Charlestown and Jonnie from Chelsea... you da man!!!! Yes, the protesters ,who are the real patriots, are being proven right and yes this is all about oil. It is bush's fault that these insurgents are up in arms. Iraq is being turned into another 'Nam. We will be there for years to come. Why has the US not learned its lesson? It is due to people like Tony from Boston who have this insatiable need to feed off this “war” to vent their testosterone laden aggression and frustration. Let give george a one way ticket to TX this year.

Most people who are against the war say that it was for Oil. What proof is there? Who benefited? I am not being sarcastic, I am just curious as to the specifics behind these accusations. Just as right wingers need to back up what they say about things, left wingers should as well. I am very interersted to see who benefited by this and how it was about "oil".
