Senator Kerry hammered home a concise overview of this administration's failures. President Bush learned a new facial expression.
Stephen, Hull
Bush was at his very best last night, and still he was an embarrassment. He kept talking as if he was a political newbie, ready to come into the White House and clean up the mess. Wake up, Bozo--you've been there for FOUR years and all you've done is alienate our friends and allies across the globe, as well as the moderate Arab world, run up a deficit that would make Reagan blush with shame, cut deals for your cronies, increase air pollution under the so-called "Clean Air Act"--do I need to go on? Are ANY of us better off than we were four years ago? He keeps talking about Kerry raising taxes, when meanwhile he's run up a credit card bill for this insane war that our kids will be paying forever. The thought of these billions of dollars being spent in Iraq while meantime my daughter's school can't afford to repair broken windows, pay for art or music programs, or even replace the thirty-year-old curtains on the windows makes my blood boil. This--in the richest nation on earth? I for one am happy to give another Dem a chance at the White House so we can return to a CONSERVATIVE financial policy that will make us safer, smarter and more secure in the future.
