My Monday morning commute was fine! I was very surprised to see no crowds at Oak Grove Station at 7:50 a.m. There was one transit policeman and two volunteers (yellow shirts and blue caps). I got a seat on the train. The conductor announced that we would not stop at North Station due to the Democratic National Convention. I arrived at work on time with no delays. There seemed to be fewer commuters and cars than usual. I hope it remains this way for the rest of the week.

Arline, Melrose, MA

I guess I shouldn't complain, since I come into South Station and my train didn't have to be diverted, but the Middleboro/Lakeville train was 40 minutes late this morning. I'm grateful that my boss is out all this week - I didn't have to explain why I was over an hour late to work.

WTG, South Shore

My comute time was cut in half.

I had to drive in from Sherborn, MA and the commute IN was a breeze. I got on the Pike at Natick and there was no trafic all the way to Brighton. I crossed the Charles at Brighton and took Memorial to Charlestown. Not one problem. We will see how the ride home is though :(

K , Sherborne

My commute was great. It's getting home that is going to be bad.

Jerri, Melrose

My commute was no different than any other day. In fact, it was a little easier because there weren't as many people on the T as there normally are at that time in the morning.

The streets were deserted, and so were the trains. It made me realize how much more pleasant life would be if all the suburbans stayed at home every day.

My ride in today was just fine today. Not sure what all the ruckus is for. Doesn't everyone reading boston.com live in Pennsylvania?

Bob, Erie, PA

Ride was easiest I have had in years!
