It was an easy ride on Beacon Street and Storrow Drive, much like a Sunday morning. Hopefull the ride home will be just as nice!

Marie, Brookline

Commute was fine. I took Rte 1 north to 128 South to Waltham without any delays. I don't think that will be the case for this evenings commute though...I think after 4pm...it will be a mess.

K, Winthrop

Like most of the rest of you, my commute was easier than usual. I take the 64 bus from Allston to Kendall Sq. There were only about half of the usual commuters that I see every day on the bus with me and also quite a few people I haven't seen before.

Stephen, Allston

The commute on 93 south would have been fine if it were not for the closing of the highway for the motorcade and if the state troopers weren't standing in the middle of the highway pulling trucks/vans over to inspect them. The troopers caused the delays on 93, once you were by them it was clear sailing. Hopefully they will modify how they conduct traffic inspections for tomorrow.

Sheryl, Lowell

I drive to Wellington Station every day. So today I left 25 minutes earlier in case parking would be tight. I arrived at about 6:10AM and saw 2 MBTA police officers in the parking lot. I was quite amazed when I went into the station. There was no police presence in the station at that time and the gate was open (though attended br a 'T' employee) to let the commuters through. I thought to myself, there must be some security on the platform, but there were none. I find this odd because this is the Oramge Line that passes through North Station. All the previous information led me to believe that bags would be randomly searched and we were strongly encouraged to limit the size of our purses/tote bags/briefcases, etc. Have I missed something? I felt like this was just another ordinary commute to work.

I traveled into the city at about 6am. 93 south Lots of staties pulling over white trucks...causing curiousity factor delays... got to work about 20 minutes late as a result

Moe, Methuen

I took the 08:48 325 express bus from Medford to Faneuil Hall and it was a piece of cake. My typical 25-30 minute ride took only 11 minutes this morning. Tomorrow morning might be a different story. I know co-workers that took today off and were going to see how things went, if it wasn't too bad they were going to come into work tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to the commute home when there will be a lot more road closures.

Paul, Medford

A few of us from work decided to bike in together. It was a great way to get in easily and see some sights too often overlooked while commuting via car or train.

Well, I take the bus (route 450 from Salem MA) every day. I'll take the 6:40 bus this week in order to get in early and get out early. Except the 6:40 never showed up. The 7:10 driver said that particular time had been CANCELLED this week! I've checked the T Web for changes and cancellations, but it is not listed! So, I tried, THEY FAILED. Not only that but the bus I did get on was so filthy dirty that I could not sit in a seat. So after standing for an hour to wait for a bus, I had to stand for an additonal hour until the bus got to Boston! I am exhausted and it is only 9:00 AM! I am not a janitor, I wear a business suit to work - I certainly don't want to get to work looking like I cleaned the bus! The city, the state, Massport needs to do something about the T. They are a disgrace. Customer Service and their supposed "Consumer Bill of Rights" is a joke. I don't think anyone in the T is even aware of it - and if they are they could care less! This is why no one uses the MBTA! This is why they are losing money! Would you pay $130.00 per month to sit on a late, dirty, smelly (desiel fumes), non air conditioned, cannot open the windows bus????????? And get treated like scum in the process????? Maybe we should make the MBTA managers ride there own busses and trains to work. If they actually used it maybe they would then understand why no one else does! Of course, they all drive to work in their gas guzzling SUV's - compliments of the T!!??!! I have sent emails to the MBTA and to Mayor Menino's office to complain. I also offered a suggestion that they fired all of the managment and start over. I will gladly submit my resume for their consideration! Why not then I could ignore the complaints, be overpaid, and drive to work in a company paid for, gas guzzling SUV!

Linda, Salem, MA

The morning commute was a lot easier then I thought it was going to be. Maybe everyone took the Mayor's advice and took the week off. Then again i didn't think the morning commute would be the big problem considering that i'm heading south on I-93. The trek home is where my survival kit will be in use. Anything over an hour and half will seriously make me consider calling to in work ill for the week (wink wink)
