I had a good commute to Brighton with no problems. Almost like it was a holiday. If the T wanted people to ride it, they should have made it completely free this week.

I took the 6 a.m. train from Lakeville and the occupancy was light to say the least. It was one of the most pleasant rides I've ever had. Hope it's the same going home this afternoon. Haven't seen any protests or anarchy yet................but the day isn't over!

The ride in was great. Getting out won't be so neat and easy.

I rode my bike out to Stoneham/Woburn from my loft in Fort Point Channel so there was zero traffic. I rode my bike because the reverse commute at the end of the day would not allow me to return to my house by car!

I think the news, press, convention organizers sufficiently frightened enough people such that they stayed off the roads. Just like they wanted us to. So we'd be out of the way of the convention.

I travel from Melrose to Mattapan for work. Today was like traveling on a Saturday. I made it to work in 35 minutes. A good day is usually 45 minutes. With no car pool lanes there was uninterrupted traffic with no merging. I believe this helped a great deal. Also I leave my house between 6:30 and 6:40 AM and today I left at 6:25 AM. I am still at work and plan to leave by 3. Hopefully the commute will be as good as this morning's was.

What traffic?

Having just re-located from Western Massachusetts, I've been trying to figure you Easterners out, while starting a new job in Boston and commuting in from Lowell. I usually leave Lowell at 6am and, to my surprise, find traffic already backed up on Rt. 3 to Burlington. So, with all the media's hype about the traffic nightmares for DNC week, I decided to get up at 3:30am and leave Lowell by 4am to start the day at 5am. If only the roads could be like this every morning! The sky looked beautiful over Boston as I approached the city at 4:45am. Rowers were already on the Charles as I made it through traffic lights blinking red or yellow, with no traffic snarls in sight. It was wonderful. Now....if only things will be that great this afternoon at 1:30. I hope it's fast! Nap time awaits.
