Monday morning commute
How was your commute this morning? What was different?

Driving from Salem to Cambridge via 114, 128 and rt 1 to the tobin bridge/gilmore bridge/broadway couldn't have been easier at 1am on a Sunday than it was at 7am this morning.
Dave, Salem
I had an incredibly smooth commute by bicycle from Somerville to MGH. Left at 8:30am got to work at 8:50. It was faster than my usual bus+T (now shuttle bus) commute. There seemed to be far less traffic than usual on the roads for a Monday morning. Saw some police presence, but they didn't seem to notice me. Now if only the trip home were mostly downhill like the trip in....
Kristin, Somerville
RTE 1 from NorthShore to Airport was sweet..Best ride I've had in quite some time...atleast coming into work.. Going home (which is what I've been concerned about from the beginning) is still up in the air, but, travelling Rte 1 on ANY given day can go from bad to worse to stand still with just 1 fender bender by the Square One Mall..so...we'll wait and see.... Good luck everyone..
ALICIA, EAST BOSTON
I didn't really expect that much of a difference, excpet maybe taking 495 instead of rt3, but all traffic builletins said that traffic was fine everywhere but 93N. I had a better than normal traffic Monday.
Megan, Lowell to Framingham
<<Why can't the T run like this the other 51 weeks of the year? mark, dorchester AMEN! It was the best commute yet. If the MBTA would operate their system like this ALL the time, there would be a whole lot less pissing and moaning when they raise the fares (which I'm sure is inevitable...)
Zelda, Melrose
My ride was amazingly light from the North Shore. Now if it could only stay that way.....
Michelle, Haverhill
93s from Salem to Medford was easier than I thought it would be. I made it to Kendall Sq. in 55 minutes - about average for my commute. I can't wait until the drive home, though. The ride in was a 7 out of 10.
Dave, Salem, NH
Quiet... For every 1000 in town, I'd guess 3000 have left.

I usually bike commute and saw a lot more bikers out this morning. Traffic was less than usual, but there were a ton of delivery trucks making their rounds. They blocked bike lanes and extended into normal traffic lanes when parked, and were unpredictable when moving. All in all a great ride- and I'm not worried about tonight either.
Megan, Somerville
Ask me tonight when I get home. I'm going from Burlington to Malden. I'm not worried abotu the commute in the morning, it's the commute in the evening I'm dreading.
