MESSAGE BOARD Who will win?
Who do you think will win the New Hampshire primary? Why?
Page 12 Who cares? Lets just vote for a president that won't lie to us and kill our children all over the world! John, Boston, MA Clark is the most likely to beat Bush, so he SHOULD win in NH and win the nomination. I have heard a lot of republicans say they would vote for Clark over Bush. I can't imagine enough republicans voting for Dean or Kerry in November to beat Bush. Plus, Clark is extremely intelligent, strong on the environment, pro-choice, experienced in foreign policy, pro-education, pro-healthcare reform, etc. He did not support the war without UN approval, and clearly has the most experience to fix the mess in Iraq. VOTE CLARK!!! Audrey, Jamaica Plain I think John Kerry will and should win because he is the most qualified and is the one who can beat Bush Joe, Evansville,IN I hope dean wins. Everyone is entitled to have a bad day.I have delt with Sen. Kerry a few times and have personally talked to him.I find in my own opinion that he is rude and not a very nice person.I have taken care of him as a customer and he treated me like i was an unimportant human being. That is not someone I would like to be president.Thankyou and that is my opinion. blank, new bedford,ma Kerry will win New Hampshire and will go on to win the Democratic nomination then will beat Bush! Jason, Seattle The problem with a democracy is that the votes of uninformed and ignorant count the same as those of the well informed (see a great article from the Onion on this). Wes Clark is the most intelligent candidate for off ice this country has had in a long time. On matters of foreign policy/relations and economics no other candidate is even in his league. Plus he isn’t a “politician” which is important. That will allow him to get things done and hopefully limit the bipartisan shenanigans that cause so much gridlock. Vote Clark. Brian, Boston I want Dean to win, however I think he can not get Bush out of the White House. So, it's better for Kerrry to move on,he would have a better chance. I am very disapointed with Dean's last week performaces. ides, cambridge At this point I think Kerry will come in first, Dean second, Edwards third, and Clark or Lieberman fourth. But I would not be totally surpised if Dean regains his momentum and comes in first, or if Edwards loses his and comes in fourth or fifth. What would suprise me is if Lieberman does better than fourth, but it could happen. I think the people in New Hampshire are recognizing that Kerry is the candidate who is most likely to beat Bush because he has experience and gravitas. I am looking forward to seeing who New Hampshire picks, but if the race there comes out close, the results may not resolve anything, making the Feb. 3 states the next battle. In the end I think Kerry will win the nomination, not because he is my personal favorite but because he is the kind of person who, once he comes back from near-defeat, can stick around--he is not a fad like Dean. I think Dean is actually a pretty sensible guy underneath everything, but his rise was due not so much to his mostly reasonable ideas as his novelty as an internet candidate and anti-establishment figure, so it will not last. Edwards is amazingly charming in a Clinton-esque way--his smile wins my heart every time, and his optimism is refreshing--but I think his lack of experience is a huge problem. I would like to see either him or Clark as vice president on Kerry's ticket, since either of them would help carry the South. Laura (again), Waltham I think the Kerry train is rolling. And he should take NH. I even think he will do well in the south. We need a military candidate to pick up the mid-west. I'm looking forward to a Kerry/Edwards ticket. ABB Anybody But Bush! Dave, Cambridge Kerry - because the American people are ignorant. Most voters claim that they are sick of being given empty words & lofty promises. Yet they continue to be drawn to the position du jour like moths to light - placing little regard on career achievement and past voting records. Kerry, of all the Democratic candidates, flip-flops positions at a spectacular rate - as dictated by media hype & opinion polls. His vote to go into Iraq and then his immediate turnaround & condemnation of the very same act is a perfect example. He lacks any and all personal integrity - there is no issue he is not willing to invert his position if he thinks it will gain him an advantage. None. It's stomach turning. Yet the American voter is captivated by the moment and ruled by emotion - not actual achievement & integrity. This was nicely summed up in a recent poll question asking why people would vote for Kerry: "I just like him" - no compelling issue or position. No mention of his record (or lack thereof) on important agenda items. You might as well say "I like his tie" - the primary crt\iteria it seems to elect a person President of the United States.
