A decision the software startup Mendix made two years ago to relocate to Boston from the Netherlands has paid off in a big way.
The company that helps businesses make their own apps just raised $25 million in venture capital funding from the Boston investment firm Battery Ventures, giving it enough money to continue building up its local workforce and become a larger player in the local technology economy.
Mendix was founded in the Netherlands in 2006 and moved its headquarters to Boston in 2012 to tap the US market and gain access “to talent, to capital, and customers,” said Mendix chief executive Derek Roos.
