Report on Todashev shooting to be released Tuesday

The Boston Globe reports:

A Florida prosecutor says he will release his final report Tuesday morning on the FBI's fatal shooting of a Chechen man linked to the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing.

Ibragim Todashev was shot to death by an FBI agent during an interrogation on May 22 of last year. He was being questioned by FBI agents and Massachusetts law enforcement about his relationship with accused Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, as well as his role in a September 2011 triple murder in Waltham.

According to the Orlando Sentinel:

During the interview, Todashev said Tsarnaev had been involved in a triple homicide in Massachusetts before the April 15, 2013 bombing that killed 3 and injured more than 250, according to documents filed in federal court in Boston.

It has been almost a year since Todashev was killed, but federal and state officials have yet to release details about the shooting. Accounts differ on whether Todashev was armed.

Authorities initially reported that Todashev had attacked an FBI agent with a knife during the interrogation. The FBI backpeddled on those claims soon after, leading to reports that he may not have been armed at all, according to the Associated Press. TheNew York Times later reported that Todashev might have attacked agents with a pole or a broomstick.
