The L.A. Times reports:

The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. at the station at 4849 Venice Blvd., near La Brea Avenue, an LAPD spokeswoman said.

"There are multiple victims," said Officer Sara Faden. She said it was unclear whether the victims were wounded by gunfire or fragments from shrapnel. She said there were at least two victims, but it was unclear if one was the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody.

Video from the scene reportedly showed the injured officer sitting upright as he was transported to the ambulance.

The same substation was attacked last June in what the the city’s police chief called a “blatant attempt to assassinate cops.”

KNBC has a live helicopter feed broadcasting over the scene of the shooting, though the situation appears contained.

The story is developing and will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
