Two students were suspended after a biology teacher at a Kansas City high school projected a pornographic image from his laptop during a class last week.

Don’t worry, we were confused too, but here’s what happened:

According to a report from Kansas City’s KCTV5, a female student in the class took a picture of the projected image and sent it to her boyfriend, who then shared it with his own friends. Eventually, the image was posted to Facebook.

As we all know, once something like this hits social media, it’s pretty safe to assume that no one is going to end up happy. The two students were called out of class twice throughout the day before being told they would be suspended. The teacher was placed on paid leave while the school investigates the incident.

But why were the students suspended for the teacher’s inappropriate actions? Well, that’s where this whole thing gets fun.

The school told the students’ parents that their children were suspended for “inappropriate use of electronics,” the report said, which is hilarious after considering that this whole issue started with a teacher using his laptop to show a picture of a woman in a compromising position to a classroom full of high school students.

But the parents of the two students are not amused and want to fight the punishments. They are concerned this whole incident could impact their children’s college applications. After all, their children are on the honor roll and schools might not look kindly on an incident like this.

Of course, while it’s easy to fall into the tired role of over-concerned parent, maybe these people should be looking at the silver lining. Sure, the teacher was incredibly irresponsible and clearly needs to learn that browsing porn on his work computer might not be the best idea, but by catching him red-handed, these students may have actually helped their chances at getting into college.

Think about it: they demonstrated moral character and a passion for protecting the education system, all while showing a knack for bringing wrong-doers to justice.

And hey, if you don’t buy any of that garbage, there’s no doubting that these students are top-notch learners. Look at how quickly they picked up their teacher’s lesson on how not to use electronics in school. A-plusses all around!
