Watch First Human Test Out World’s Tallest Water Slide

The Verrückt, located at Kansas City’s Schlitterbahn Waterpark, has finally had a human rider after months of test engineers simply flinging sandbags down it.

Standing at 168 feet and 7 inches tall, the mammoth slide is, according to i09, taller than the Statue of Liberty and Niagara Falls. So naturally, humans delight at the idea of hurtling down the structure at a reported 65 miles-per-hour.

Safety concerns have delayed the ride’s opening, but the most recent test run gives hope that we won’t have to wait much longer.

Schlitterbahn’s website states:

Adventure seekers will be able to share this experience as they strap into a 4 person raft that will slide down a jaw dropping 168 foot 7 inch structure, only to be blasted back up a second massive hill and then sent down yet another gut wrenching 50 foot drop for the ultimate in water slide thrills!

There’s no official word on when the ride will be open to the public, but in the mean-time, adrenaline junkies can watch this video:
