Sarah Palin is going rogue again. In a July 8 article she penned for Breitbart News Network, the former governor of Alaska called for the impeachment of President Obama and compared his time in office to an abusive marital relationship.
On the same day the White House asked Congress for $3.7 billion in emergency funds for border control, Palin stated: “Enough is enough of the years of abuse from this president. His unsecured border crisis is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ‘no mas.’”
Last year, Palin suggested Obama be impeached for the rising debt limit, and stated today: “It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.”
Palin’s list of complaints about the president includes “rewarding of lawlessness,” trillions of dollars in US debt, cities on the verge of insolvency, an “overrun healthcare system,” and police, social services, schools, and welfare programs being “stretched to the max.”
But her main issue seems to be with illegal immigration, as she points out multiple times that it is the president’s job to secure our borders. Palin’s article comes days after American protestors in California halted buses of illegal immigrants from Central America, demanding they be sent back where they came from.
On the border issue, Palin may agree with Texas Governor Rick Perry, who earlier this week claimed the Obama administration is coordinating the flow of illegal immigrants. Perry told Fox News that the president “might be in on this somehow.” He stated to ABC on Sunday: “I have to believe that when you do not respond in any way, that you are either inept, or you have some ulterior motive of which you are functioning from.”
Palin closes the column by saying: “If after all this he’s not impeachable, then no one is.”
