PARIS -- Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts swept a Democrats Abroad caucus of US citizens living in Paris yesterday, winning more than half the votes of a partisan crowd driven chiefly by its dislike of President Bush. "I'll vote for any Democrat who's nominated -- I just want Bush out," said artist Amaranth Ehrenhalt, a Philadelphia native who has lived in the French capital for 40 years. Kerry won 58.4 percent of the vote against 21.6 percent for former Vermont governor Howard Dean and 21 percent for retired Army General Wesley K. Clark. More than 500 voters packed the American Church in Paris for the vote to pick delegates to regional and world caucuses of Democrats abroad to be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, in late March. (Reuters)

Torricelli is raising funds to aid Kerry
WASHINGTON -- Senator John F. Kerry is letting former senator Robert Torricelli raise money for him less than two years after the Senate formally rebuked Torricelli for his actions with a political donor. Torricelli, whose rising political career collapsed in 2002 after his fund-raising became the subject of criminal and Senate investigations, said yesterday he is not seeking a formal position in Kerry's campaign but has raised money for it.
