SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- A man was arrested early yesterday in the shootings of five cars along a Southern California highway.
Authorities were trying to determine if a gun found when Keith Tomlinson, 36, was arrested matched the shots fired in the attacks along Highway 101, said a California Highway Patrol spokesman, Don Clotworthy.
No one was wounded in the attacks.
Tomlinson was booked for investigation of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at a vehicle in connection with the shootings Tuesday and Wednesday. He was jailed without bail.
Authorities were investigating the two shootings Tuesday when they heard gunshots Wednesday evening and closed 15 miles of the highway. A bullet hole was found in one vehicle, Clotworthy said.
"There is evidence that ties him to being the shooter in both of those cases," he said. He would not elaborate.
The type of gun used was not disclosed.![]()
