Editor's note: On June 23, the Sauce column in the Weekend section featured Max Stein's American restaurant in Lexington and discussed its food preparation. But according to the restaurant, the writer had visited before a recent change in chefs. In fairness, the Globe should have withheld publication of the column and asked the writer to revisit the restaurant for an assessment of the dining experience under its new chef.
Correction: Because of a reporting error, a quote in a story about the assault and battery conviction of Josiah Spaulding III in yesterday's City & Region section should have been attributed to a statement issued by Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley, not a statement by assistant district attorney David Fredette.
Correction: Because of an editing error, a photo credit in yesterday's City & Region section accompanying a story about the mother of Milena Del Valle, the woman killed in the tunnel connector accident, was incorrect. Essdras M Suarez of the Globe staff took the picture of Miriam Vargas in her home in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Correction: Because of a reporting error, a story in yesterday's Living/Arts section about a Manchester, N.H., firing range mischaracterized Massachusetts gun laws. Residents with a Class A gun license may purchase semiautomatic weapons. Residents without a Class A license may shoot semiautomatic weapons at a gun range or gun club that holds a Class A license. Certified police firearms instructors or firearms collectors who hold a machine gun license may purchase machine guns. Also, the story should have made clear that US laws prohibit private ownership of fully automatic machine guns manufactured after 1986. The Uzi mentioned in the story was never illegal because it was made before 1986.
