CHICAGO --Obama's girls have heard of Obama Girl -- and wonder what the star of the racy Web video means to their family.

In opening the campaign's volunteer headquarters Friday, Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, talked about the reaction to the video from their two daughters -- Sasha, 6, and Malia, 9.

"I tell them that it's, you know, the way people are sometimes," said Michelle Obama.

She was referring to "I Got A Crush On Obama," a music video created by an aspiring model and actress named Amber Lee Ettinger, aka Obama Girl. The song, which has lines like "Universal health care reform, it makes me warm," has gotten more than 2.5 million hits and 7,500 comments since being posted last month on YouTube, the online video-sharing site.

Obama said she and her husband reassured their daughters, after Sasha asked, "Daddy, you have Mommy, right?"

"I think they were sort of like, 'What is this? And what does it mean?' But you know, that's the nature of having ... children in politics," Michelle Obama said.

"We have to be responsible about what we do and how we do it, but otherwise, I ... joke and say, 'I think my husband's cute.' So, you know, more power to the people who think he's cute, as well."

Before opening the office, Michelle Obama teased the crowd about her husband's image.

"Barack would never wear those shorts," a smiling Obama said, gesturing to a cardboard cutout of her husband wearing a campaign T-shirt and Hawaiian shorts. "And they're usually black flip-flops, not red, nothing with color."

"That's the thing about Barack. He's like, 'Mr. GQ' all of a sudden," Obama said. "He's got, like, five white shirts and three black suits, and all of a sudden, he's best-dressed."
