Democrats tentatively welcome Mukasey
Retired US judge largely unknown on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON - Senate Democrats yesterday gave a tentative welcome to the nomination of retired federal judge Michael Mukasey to be attorney general, following a Rose Garden introduction in which President Bush trumpeted Mukasey's experience handling issues of national security and terrorism.
