Clinton wins largely uncontested Michigan primary

Hillary Clinton won a largely uncontested Michigan Democratic primary Tuesday.

The Democratic National Committee stripped the Michigan of all its delegates to the Democratic National Convention because the state scheduled its primary at an earlier date than sanctioned by the party.

As a result, most Democratic candidates, including Barack Obama and John Edwards, removed their names from the ballot and neglected to campaign in the state. Clinton, Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, and Christopher Dodd -- who dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses -- were the only names featured on the ballot.

With 89 percent of precincts reporting, Clinton had 56 percent of the vote -- and 39 percent of voters indicated they were "uncommitted," with the remaining five percent distributed among the three lesser candidates.
