Correction: Because of a reporting error, the Health Answers feature in Monday's Health/Science section wrongly attributed a recommendation about how to remove excess ear wax. The suggestion to use Colace, a stool softener, was made by Dr. Jo Shapiro, chief of the division of otolaryngology at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

The Globe welcomes information about errors that call for corrections. Information may be e-mailed to comments@globe.com or left in a message at 617-929-8230. A list of other Globe contacts can be found on Page B2.
