Massachusetts is one of more than 20 states around the country today with a presidential primary election. Polls across the state open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
Registered voters can cast ballots in their party's primary, or if they are unaffiliated they can vote in either party primary. For the first time, independent voters will automatically be returned to the ranks of the unenrolled after they vote, regardless of which party primary they participate in.
Voters looking for their polling place can find out at Secretary of State William F. Galvin's website: www.wheredoivotema.com. Or check your city or town website. Information for Boston voters is at: www.cityofboston.gov/elections/voter/.![]()
