LITTLETON, Colo.—The Colorado school where two children were shot and wounded has reopened for students who want to talk to counselors or pick up items they left behind in the confusion after the attack.
Deer Creek Middle School in suburban Denver had 20 counselors available Friday. They waited outside with teachers to greet students, parents and staff.
Classes resume Monday.
One of the students wounded in Tuesday's attack was treated and released. The other is hospitalized in good condition with rib and lung injuries.
Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Authorities have not determined a motive.
Teachers tackled Eastwood and pinned him to the ground after they say he opened fire with a hunting rifle in the school's parking lot.![]()
