DETROIT—Gov. Jennifer Granholm is spreading the word about a $128.4 million federal grant to help struggling Michigan homeowners avoid foreclosure.
Michigan is in line for the grants under a national program announced last Wednesday. The state is one of several getting extra help because its unemployment rate is well above the national average.
Granholm is discussing the grant Tuesday at the Mexicantown Welcome Center in Detroit. The governor's appearance coincides with a scheduled stop of the Fifth-Third Homeownership Mobile e-Bus.
Staff on the bus will offer on-the-spot help to people facing foreclosure on their homes.![]()
