RALEIGH, N.C.—The Rev. Franklin Graham says his father, evangelist Billy Graham, is recovering well from his latest bout of pneumonia.

Franklin Graham told CBS' "The Early Show" on Wednesday that his father is getting ready for Christmas at his home near Asheville, N.C.

Franklin Graham says his father is the only person he knows who enjoys the hospital and the people he meets there. Billy Graham was hospitalized for a week recently after suffering from congestion.

Franklin Graham says his father tries to work a little each day, answering mail and working on a new book about salvation.

The younger Graham says his father never expected to live to age 93. He says his father's current book, "Nearing Home," is not just for older people but has lessons for everyone.
