Senator Scott Brown lashed out at his Republican brethren in the House as they launched an overnight attempt yesterday to undermine a bipartisan measure that temporarily extends a payroll tax cut and jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed. The Massachusetts Republican called the House GOP’s opposition to the Senate compromise “irresponsible and wrong.’’
