Slow police pursuit of tow truck ends in Glendale
LOS ANGELES—A slow-speed police pursuit of a tow truck through the streets of Los Angeles has ended peacefully in Glendale.
The driver pulled over on a street in the LA suburb at about 6:45 p.m. -- more than two hours after the situation began -- and was taken into custody.
Officer Karen Rayner says the pursuit began at the scene of a traffic collision in the Sherman Oaks area. She says the driver got into some sort of altercation with a police officer, then got back into the truck and drove off.
Rayner says officers pursued the vehicle for a few minutes, then pulled back so as not to endanger the public.
The driver continued on side streets, at times in stop-and-go traffic talking to onlookers through the passenger side window.
