LAFAYETTE, La.—Louisiana authorities are searching for a college student who has been missing for nearly a week after she was last seen on a bicycle in the early morning hours.

Michaela Shunick, who goes by "Mickey," is a 22-year-old anthropology major at the University of Louisiana. She had been at a house May 19 in a neighborhood popular with college students, and left the home around 2 a.m. on a black bicycle.

Detectives in Lafayette say surveillance video from a local business shows someone on a bicycle the morning Shunick was last seen, and they believe it was Shunick. Investigators are trying to learn more about a white pickup truck also seen on the video.

Shunick is described as a white female, with blonde hair. She is 5-foot-1 and 115 pounds.
