Mayra Camargo protested with other high school students in Dallas to fight an immigration reform bill, which considers an unlawful presence in the US a felony. Undocumented immigrants would potentially face jail time.

Thanks in part to grassroots efforts like this rally and a bipartisan coalition in control, the committee voted down the proposed criminal penalties on immigrants found to be in the country illegally.
