Vice President Dick Cheney's ex-chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was also probed for having mentioned Plame to two reporters. He claimed, like Rove, that though he did mention her he never identified her by name.
He resigned after he was indicted and convicted of perjury, obstruction of justice, and lying to investigators. Though he was sentenced to 30 months in prison, President Bush decided to commute his prison term which prevented him from serving any prison time, yet maintained the conviction on his record and enforced a $250,000 fine.
