In 1974, Thailand was getting back to normal after the previous fall, when some 250,000 people demonstrated in the streets of Bangkok against the government. Then tanks had rolled. A new constitution went into effect later in 1974.

In 2007, Thailand was getting back to normal after last fall's protests in Bangkok. Then the military took over and kicked out the prime minister. Elections are to be held later in 2007.
