Sergeant Theodore W. Perreault, 33, Webster
Perreault, an EMT and volunteer firefighter, was part of a National Guard unit sent to Cuba to patrol the land around the Camp Delta military prison. He died of a noncombat-related gunshot wound Dec. 23, 2003. The death was the first in the Guantanamo operation in more than a year. During his call-ups, his daughters made flags out of beads and sold them at craft fairs, raising enough money to buy a TV, VCR, and outdoor grill for their dad's unit.
