WASHINGTON -- Senators George Allen and John Warner represent the same state and the same Republican Party, but they are a generation apart. Warner, 78, is one of the grandees of the Senate, serving in his fifth term with 26 years under his belt. Allen, 53, is one of the body's younger conservative firebrands, serving in his first term.
