Marine lieutenant charged with assault
The military has charged a Marine Corps officer with assaulting three Iraqi civilians in April, accusing him of beating and choking them and placing a pistol in one victim's mouth, the Marines said yesterday. Second Lieutenant Nathan Phan was charged with three counts of assault and one count of making a false official statement relating to the alleged assaults on April 10, near Hamdania, a town west of Baghdad. More firefighters arrive as blaze grows
CHEYENNE -- More firefighters and equipment arrived yesterday in attempts to fend off a wildfire threatening hundreds of houses near Casper yesterday. The fire expanded rapidly in shifting winds and headed toward a subdivision of about 50 homes, State Forester Bill Crapser said.
