Wants time to plan demise of ‘don’t ask’
The Justice Department sought yesterday to continue, at least for now, the “don’t ask, don’t tell’’ policy barring openly gay soldiers from the military, saying this week’s court order to end the rule immediately would disrupt military preparedness and complicate ongoing reviews of the policy.
