WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama heads to France on Wednesday evening for a summit of world leaders, but before he does he'll make another push for passage of a piece of his jobs bill.

He'll speak at a waterfront park in Washington near Key Bridge to urge Congress to pass the infrastructure part of his American Jobs Act. The White House says it will put Americans back to work and fund projects like repairing aging bridges.

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will meet with Senate Democratic leaders in the afternoon.

The two-day summit beginning Thursday will focus on the global economy and Europe's debt crisis.
