The mundane cranberry, under siege in the war against sugar, now has some political heavyweights to help defend it — a “cranberry caucus” headlined by Senators John Kerry and Scott Brown, and Representative William Keating, as well as 14 others who hope to extol the virtues of the tart fruit.
