On March 25, three Republican senators -- Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, Lindsay Graham of South Carolina, and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska -- questioned the veracity of Gonzales. Said Hagel: "You cannot have the nation's chief law enforcement officer with a cloud hanging over his credibility."
