Todd GravesGraves, a former US attorney from Missouri, told the Washington Post that a senior Justice Department official asked him to step down in January 2006, months before the other eight prosecutors were let go by the Bush administration.Though Graves had planned to return to his private law practice, he said his request to remain in his position long enough to prosecute a case--involving the murder of a pregnant woman and kidnapping of her 8-month fetus--was denied.
