Margaret Chiara

Chiara, who was the top federal prosecutor in western Michigan, said she did a good job as a US attorney and denied claims that she gave preferential treatment to a friend in her office who received significant cash bonuses.

A high-ranking official from the department identified her as a weak prosecutor in an e-mail to an adviser to President Bush.
