Colin Powell, Former Secretary of State

Powell told a Colorado audience on July 8 that he spent 2 1/2 hours trying to talk Bush out of invading Iraq. "I took him through the consequences of going into an Arab country and becoming the occupiers." Powell said the civil war cannot be ''put down or solved'' by US forces.
