Melissa Moorhouse of Allston, who lost her three-foot boa, Penelope, while riding on the Red Line (and setting off a bit of a panic for some about those afraid of snakes), got a $650 bill from the MBTA for the "unanticipated clean-up costs" to rid the subway of any germs that Penelope might have left behind.
